However, we do require that you give at least one day of notice before canceling your membership so we can ensure that any vehicles you have reserved for that month will be addressed with sufficient time.

When you cancel, you will be asked to give a reason for your cancellation and then you’ll receive an email confirming that your membership has been cancelled.

Lastly, press the ‘end trip’ button located on the Zipcar app or website, or head to the Zipcar app/website to try and locate the end-trip button, then follow its instructions to securely end the trip.

After you successfully end the trip, your Zipcar account will reflect the replayment rate when booking the vehicle.

If the late return is more than two hours, you will be charged an additional fee of $50 per hour. In extreme cases, an additional fee of up to $250 may be charged if a vehicle is returned more than 24 hours late.

Late fees are charged to the primary Zipcar member on the reservation, regardless of who is returning the car. In addition to these late fees, you may incur additional costs, such as a $50 relocation fee and applicable mileage charges.

If you do not return your Zipcar or contact the Zipcar Member Services team, the car may be reported stolen and law enforcement and towing resources may be used to locate and return the vehicle. In such cases, you may be subject to criminal liability and/or civil damages.

To avoid these fees and other repercussions, be sure to return your Zipcar on time and as arranged in order to avoid any additional charges or burden.
