Can you get back deleted accounts on Discord?

In most cases, deleted Discord accounts cannot be recovered. Once an account is deleted, its data is erased from the Discord servers and there is no way to retrieve it. When you delete an account, any memberships or messages in a server you were in will be gone.

Other members in the server will not be notified when you delete your account.

If you want to retrieve an account that you deleted yourself, you may be able to do so through Discord’s Trust & Safety team. You will need to prove the ownership of the account and explain why you would like the account to be recovered.

However, there is no guarantee that your request will be approved.

If your account was disabled or deleted by Discord’s Trust & Safety team, there is unfortunately no way to recover the account.

Are deleted Discord accounts permanent?

No, deleted Discord accounts are not permanent and can be reinstated if necessary. When you delete your Discord account, all of your data associated with that account is removed from the server. This includes any messages, personal information, photographs, membership in other servers, or other accounts linked to the deleted account.

However, your account can still be reactivated by simply logging in with your credentials again. The reactivated account will have the same data and content as it did before you deleted it. It is important to note that there is no way to recover any data that was permanently erased from the server prior to account deletion.

Furthermore, notifications from the account will be paused until you log in and reactivate it.

Why does it take 14 days to delete a Discord account?

Discord takes 14 days to delete an account for safety and security reasons, to ensure that all account information is properly removed from their systems. This process helps to protect users’ data from being misused, as deleting an account immediately would not guarantee that all of the user’s account details and data would be removed from Discord’s systems.

Additionally, 14 days provides users time to recover their Discord accounts in case they have chosen to delete the account accidentally or due to some other reason.

To delete an account, a user must first delete all of their messages, disable all connections to third-party services and applications, and delete any uploaded files or images. All of these tasks need to be completed before the account can be deleted, which can take up to 14 days to complete.

In the meantime, the user won’t be able to log into the account, while Discord is processing the delete request.

What does a deactivated Discord account look like?
