The Completed Nursery Reveal!!!

As I approach my due date, I’m finding it hard to contain my excitement. At 36 weeks, I’m more than ready to meet Baby Rissler, and I’m one of the few expecting mothers who’s genuinely looking forward to labor – bring it on! It’s a thrilling time for us, as we’re finally ready to reveal our nursery transformation. This space has undergone a dramatic makeover, transforming from a neglected room with carpet stained by cat litter and urine to a fresh, clean haven.

With new carpet, paint, and a thorough disinfection, our little one is soon going to have the perfect place to call home.

With our adventure-themed nursery already complete, I’m thrilled with the final result! We opted for a palette of navy, mint, and white – a combination that lends itself well to being easily adaptable should we welcome a little princess into the family.

The Changing Closet

The Changing Closet

The compact nursery boasts a spacious walk-in closet, which cleverly solved our spatial concerns. We opted to place the changing table within this enclosed area, a decision that has proved most beneficial. The calming presence of a mirror and a Psalm 4:3 sign from Hobby Lobby adds a touch of serenity to this cozy space.

Grandpa’s Toy Box

Grandpa’s Toy Box

As you may have noticed, the beautiful wooden toy box has made an appearance earlier on. Its aesthetic appeal is only rivalled by the sentimental value it holds for me. The box was gifted to me by my mom and aunts after they went through my grandfather’s belongings following his passing this year. Among the treasured keepsakes, this toy box stands out as a special reminder of my grandpa’s presence in my life, with a small token from him tucked away within its wooden confines.

The Hutch Makeover

In our nursery DIY project, we gave new life to an old hutch my husband had purchased from Craig’s List. Initially, it was a bit worn out, but after some TLC, it now serves as a charming addition to the room. We chose White Dove by Sherwin Williams for the makeover, carefully matching the color with Behr Marquee. The result is a fresh, modern look that brings a touch of warmth to the space.

As a child, I had an intense fascination with stuffed animals – my collection was massive and dominated the end of my bed! Among my favorites were those that formed a ‘special club,’ marked by having their tags removed. Looking back, it seems I was a peculiar kid, but hey, it’s all part of growing up. Fast forward to today, and we’ve incorporated some of these nostalgic treasures onto the hutch for Baby Rissler to enjoy.

It’s a lovely way to pay homage to my childhood while also creating a cozy atmosphere in our nursery.

The Countdown Begins…

The Countdown Begins…

At 36 weeks pregnant, I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of Baby Rissler. A recent check-up revealed that I’ve reached 1 cm dilation – an exciting milestone that could signal the start of labor or simply be a precursor to a longer gestation period. Either way, it’s thrilling to see my body preparing for the birth of our baby boy. Before his arrival, I’ll share a few more updates and insights, but don’t forget to stay tuned for my birth story and life update once he’s here!
