How long are you in the hospital after arthroscopic knee surgery?

The amount of time you spend in the hospital after arthroscopic knee surgery will depend on several factors. The severity and complexity of the surgery, the patient’s individual response to the surgery, and any potential complications will all influence the length of stay in the hospital.

Generally, arthroscopic knee surgery is an outpatient procedure, so many patients require only a few hours of observation in the hospital. However, in more severe cases, a patient may require observation for up to 24 hours.

After leaving the hospital, patients often need to continue to take medications for pain and swelling for a few days, as well as attend physical therapy to help with mobility. Additionally, follow-up appointments with the surgeon may be required in order to ensure a successful recovery.
