Master Bedroom Makeover Reveal (Finally!)

It’s been four months since we started our master bedroom floor makeover, and it’s been quite the journey. Who could forget the dramatic moment when we ripped out the carpet live on Facebook? (If you missed it, check it out here.) Fast forward to today, and I’m thrilled to finally share our fully transformed (at least for now) bedroom with you. A key part of this makeover was moving our bed to a new wall, so bear that in mind as we take the grand tour.

Without further ado, let’s get to the good stuff – it’s time to reveal.

The transformation is truly remarkable; gone are the days of filthy carpets and unpleasant odors, replaced by a sense of warmth and cleanliness that’s hard to ignore. The decision to remove the old carpet was undoubtedly the right one, as it has breathed new life into the space. Take a look at this alternate perspective.

The area adjacent to the mirror, which I’ve affectionately dubbed a ‘nook’, has piqued my interest. I envision replacing the existing chair with a plush alternative, thereby creating an inviting space ideal for getting lost in a good book. Take a closer look.

I initially envisioned a color scheme centered around white, navy, and gold for my decor, but the stark contrast between hues left me feeling uninspired. That’s when I stumbled upon the vibrant ‘Be Happy’ throw pillow that caught my attention. Its brightness and cheerfulness were just what I needed to shake things up. To further tie it in, I picked up a few teal placemats, which added a pop of color to the space.

In the end, I kept my decor simple yet uplifting, relying on Hobby Lobby as my trusted resource throughout the process (it’s always a reliable companion). After reviewing all the before-and-after photos, I found myself humming along to ‘Oh, what a relief it is’ – the Alka Seltzer theme song, no less. Regardless of the mistake, there’s something truly satisfying about completing a room makeover. Now that we’ve checked that box, our sights are set on the next project.

And if you’re curious, let’s just say it’s closely tied to the master bedroom. Stay tuned for more updates.
