What are all 12 Infinity Stones?

The Infinity Stones (or Infinity Gems) are six powerful stones of cosmic origin found in the Marvel Universe. They are the most powerful objects known to exist and each possess a unique ability to bend different areas of the universe to the user’s will.

The stones are the Mind, Soul, Space, Time, Power, and Reality Stones.

The Mind Stone was first seen in the possession of the Other, and later transferred to Loki’s Scepter when it was confiscated from him by Iron Man and S. H. I. E. L. D. After being retrieved from Vision by Thanos, it was eventually destroyed by the Avengers at the end of Infinity War.

The Soul Stone is typically bartered in Soul World, where certain entities can be granted the power of the stone if they offer something of value in return. Thanos eventually acquired the Stone after exchanging Gamora’s life for it.

The Space Stone (or Tesseract) could be used to manipulate space, enabling transportation and manipulation of matter. It was retrieved from the Chitauri Vessel by S. H. I. E. L. D. and contained by them until it was taken by Loki in Avengers.

Thanos eventually recovered the Space Stone from Vision before its destruction by the Avengers.

The Time Stone (or Eye of Agamotto) allows its owner to manipulate time and dimensions. It was obtained by Stephen Strange and contained in the Sanctum Sanctorum, until it was taken by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

The Power Stone (or Orb of Morag) is a powerful red stone that grants its owner supernatural energy and strength. It was contained on the planet Morag until it was retrieved by Ronan the Accuser for Thanos.

The Reality Stone (or Aether) grants its owner the power to manipulate reality. It took the form of a red liquid when in possession of Loki and later by the Collector. Thanos eventually acquired the Reality Stone from the Collector.

How many Infinity Stones are there actually?

There are six Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The Stones, or Infinity Gems as they were originally called, are powerful objects of immense power. They are the Space Stone (also known as the Tesseract), the Reality Stone (also known as the Aether), the Power Stone (also known as the Orb), the Mind Stone (also known as Loki’s Scepter), the Time Stone (also known as the Eye of Agamotto), and the Soul Stone.

These Stones are thought to each represent different aspects of the universe and manipulating them can have drastic effects on it. When all of the Stones are brought together and placed within the Infinity Gauntlet, the wielder can gain omnipotence and omnipresence.

In the MCU, this has been attempted by characters such as Thanos, who was ultimately successful in gathering all of the Stones and bringing about his plan to erase half of all living creatures in the universe.

Is there a 7th Infinity Stone in Marvel?

No, there is not a seventh Infinity Stone in Marvel. The Infinity Stones, which are also referred to as Infinity Gems, are six immensely powerful artifacts which are tightly interconnected to each other and the fabric of the universe.

As such, they are widely seen as some of the most powerful objects in the Marvel universe. The six Infinity Stones are the Space Stone, the Power Stone, the Reality Stone, the Mind Stone, the Time Stone, and the Soul Stone.

The Infinity Stones were first introduced in The Avengers #4 (March, 1965). The Infinity Stones were then further explored in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the Avengers films.

In the comics, there have been concepts of a seventh Infinity Stone which was initially referred to as the Ego Stone. This stone was believed to be a fragment of Galactus, the eater of worlds and the Living Tribunal, an entity responsible for maintaining cosmic balance in the Marvel universe.

While these concepts were explored, the seventh stone never became an official part of Marvel canon and it has not been mentioned in the movies.

How many infinite stones exist?

It is impossible to answer with any certainty how many infinite stones exist because the concept of infinity is, by definition, limitless. It is not possible to count or measure infinite things. Therefore, we can conclude that the total number of infinite stones is unknown.

However, it is possible to consider hypothetical scenarios and make educated guesses. For example, it has been suggested that the number of infinite stones for a given set actually depends on the set itself and its possible combinations.

For example, if there are three stones in a set, then there would theoretically be 8 infinite stones—as there are eight possible combinations that can exist from that set. This is just one possible example and quickly becomes more complex when larger sets are considered.

Ultimately, the true answer to how many infinite stones exist is an enigma.
