What color should the Ooma light be?

The Ooma light should be a solid blue when your phone line is connected to Ooma and ready to make or receive calls. The light will turn solid red when you press Ooma’s line button to place or answer a call.

If the light remains red after you press the line button, it typically indicates that your call didn’t go through. If both lights, line and top-right, are glowing blue, it usually means your router is not connected to Ooma correctly or that your Ooma device is experiencing a technical issue.

If you pressed the line button to place or answer a call and both lights are now flickering blue, it typically means you are now on a call and the device is properly connected. If none of the lights on your Ooma device are lit or lit up intermittently, it could indicate a lack of power or a faulty power adapter.

What does it mean when Ooma is red?

When Ooma is red, it generally indicates an issue with the internet connection. It could be a brief interruption or it could require extensive troubleshooting. If Ooma is red, the first step is to try to check the connection and power cycle any routers and/or modems.

If that doesn’t resolve the issue, it’s best to contact customer service (or the internet service provider if the customer has a separate modem and router) to investigate the cause of the problem. Additionally, sometimes Ooma will be red if there are too many devices connected to the same router.

If possible, try to separate the number of devices that are connected to the same router and see if that helps.

What handsets work with Ooma?

Ooma works with a wide variety of cordless and corded handsets from many leading manufacturers. The type of handsets that are supported depend on which Ooma device you are using.

For the Ooma Telo device, any handset that uses DECT 6.0 technology, such as those from Panasonic, Uniden, AT&T, VTech, and GE, can connect to the base station. Similarly, the Ooma Office device supports handsets compatible with SIP, like those from Polycom, Cisco, Snom, Yealink, and Grandstream, to name a few.

Additionally, the Ooma Telo Phone System supports up to a total of four cordless handsets that can be connected to a compatible base station. Furthermore, both the Telo and Office devices support up to two corded handsets that can be directly connected to the device.

When selecting a handset, it is also important to consider whether it is a VoIP phone or an analog phone. VoIP phones generally include more features and are much more customizable than analog phones.

However, analog phones are typically less expensive than digital phones and may be a better choice if you are on a budget. Ultimately, it comes down to your personal preference and the features that you need in a handset.
