Why is my Ooma flashing red?

If your Ooma is flashing red, it usually indicates that there is an issue with the unit or a service issue that Ooma phone services need to address. Your Ooma should have an embedded light sensor which should trigger it to flash red when it is detecting that something might be wrong with the phone system.

Common causes of Ooma blinking red can be attributed to a service interruption, low or no power, or an internal hardware or software issue. Additionally, if your Ooma is connected to your router, check to make sure that your internet service is in working order.

If it is not, you should contact your internet service provider.

If your Ooma is still flashing red after ensuring that your internet is connected, it could be due to a hardware or software issue related to the Ooma device itself. To check this, you can attempt a hard reset of your Ooma.

This can be done by flipping the power switch to off, unplugging the power cord, waiting 10-20 seconds, and then plugging it back in. Note: this should not erase your settings. Once your Ooma is powered back up, see if the red light has stopped flashing.

If the Ooma still flashes red or the LED light does not change color, you should contact Ooma to have them diagnose and troubleshoot the issue. You may need to have the Ooma unit serviced or replaced if the issue is due to a hardware failure.

What does a solid red light mean on Ooma?

A solid red light on Ooma indicates that the device is not connected to the internet. There could be a few reasons why the Ooma device has lost connection to the internet. Firstly, you should check if you have adequate Wi-Fi signal strength in the area where the Ooma device is located.

If the signal strength is weak, then it could be causing the Ooma device to lose internet connection. Secondly, you should check if your modem or router is functioning properly and if the network settings are configured correctly.

Lastly, if all of the above has been checked and it still doesn’t resolve the issue, then it is possible that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is facing technical issues which is causing the Ooma device to lose connection to the internet.
