What happened to Oregon Scoreboard?

Oregon Scoreboard was a web-based performance-measurement system for state government agencies in the state of Oregon. It was created in 2006 by the Oregon Department of Administrative Services in order to provide public access to performance measures and data used in the State’s performance-based budget process.

The system was designed to allow citizens to review the State’s performance and hold agency leaders accountable for their performance.

The system was discontinued in 2013 as part of a reorganization of the state’s budget process. The Oregon State Legislature removed the requirement for the State to create performance measures for its agencies, leading to the decision to discontinue the system.

The legislature also passed legislation that prohibited state agencies from using performance-based budgeting processes, which made the Oregon Scoreboard redundant. As a result, the system was phased out and its website was taken offline in 2013.
