What happens if I lose a single AirPod?

If you lose a single AirPod, you can purchase a new one from Apple. The cost of a single AirPod is $69. However, if your AirPods are covered by AppleCare+ (Apple’s extended warranty coverage), they will replace it at no additional cost.

AppleCare+ extends the standard 1 year warranty from 90 days of accidental coverage to 2 years. If you don’t have AppleCare+, you can contact Apple to find out if you can pay for repair coverage.

It’s also important to note that when using only one AirPod, the audio will be slightly unbalanced, as the sound will be coming out of only one AirPod. You can also adjust the volume within the settings menu to make up for the lack of sound from the missing AirPod.

Can you track a single AirPod?

Yes, you can track a single AirPod using the ‘Find My’ app on your device as long as your AirPods are paired with it. To locate a missing AirPod, open the ‘Find My’ app and go to the ‘Devices’ tab. Select your AirPods from the list of devices.

If one of your AirPods is online and nearby, it will appear on the map. You can then choose to ‘Play Sound’ on the lost AirPod from the app, which will activate a sound on the missing AirPod and help you locate it.

If your AirPod is out of Bluetooth range, you can mark it as lost, which will lock it down and prevent anyone else from connecting to it. You can also choose to be notified when your AirPod is online and view its last known location in the ‘Find My’ app.
