What does Apple free warranty cover?

Apple’s free limited warranty covers your device and its accessories against manufacturing defects for one year from the date you bought your product. During this time, if you experience any malfunctions with your device or any of its accessories, Apple will either repair or replace the affected products or parts at no cost to you.

This warranty covers any defects in materials and workmanship, including any operational or performance issues that may arise. Furthermore, it covers any Apple-branded hardware products, such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, AirPods, and more.

The warranty does not cover any damages caused by accidents, mishandling, improper use, or unauthorized modifications. It also does not cover items outside of Apple’s control such as maintenance, batteries, or general wear and tear.

If you would like more coverage for your device, AppleCare+ is also available for purchase within sixty days of your original device purchase.

What warranty does not cover?

Most warranties do not cover physical damage to the product, including accidental damage, wear and tear, normal aging, intentional damage, use of the product for other than its intended purpose, or failure to follow operating instructions.

In addition, most warranties exclude any defects or damages from environmental conditions such as dust, extreme temperatures, dirt, or corrosion. Many warranties also do not cover any damages or defects from unauthorized modifications or repairs, or from the use of parts or accessories not approved by the manufacturer.

Warranties also may not cover any software related issues or any product that has been subjected to abnormal use, improper installation, misuse, or abuse. Additionally, some warranties may require that a product be returned to the manufacturer before an exchange or repair can occur.

What happens if you drop a MacBook?

If you drop a MacBook, the outcome will depend on a few factors, such as the distance it falls, the surface it falls on, and the angle of the fall. A short fall onto a soft surface, such as a carpet or linoleum, may just result in a few scratches or dents on the exterior.

But a fall from a greater height, such as a few feet, or one with a sharp downward angle, could cause much greater damage. The hard metal casing may crack or dent and internal components can easily get broken.

If this is the case, the laptop will need to be taken to an Apple store or repair shop to assess the extent of the damage. In some cases, the entire laptop may need to be replaced.

Does regular AppleCare cover accidental damage?

No, regular AppleCare does not cover accidental damage. AppleCare usually covers technical support, hardware repair, and a limited number of accidental incidents. For more comprehensive device protection and coverage from accidental damage, AppleCare+ is recommended.

AppleCare+ provides a extended repair and replacement coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling, each subject to a service fee. Additionally, AppleCare+ provides 24/7 technical support from Apple experts, depending on the product and policy purchased.

Do you still have to pay for accidental damage with AppleCare?

Yes, you still have to pay for accidental damage with AppleCare. AppleCare is an extended warranty program that covers certain repairs and replacements for your Apple hardware and accessories. Depending on the type of AppleCare plan you have, you may be required to pay an additional fee for accidental damage.

AppleCare offers several different plans, and the amount of coverage for accidental damage varies for each plan. For example, AppleCare+ for iPhone and AppleCare+ for iPad offer coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage, each subject to an excess fee.

If you don’t have a plan that covers accidental damage, you will have to pay the full cost of any repair or replacement that you need due to accidental damage.

How does Apple warranty work Macbook?

Apple’s warranty for MacBooks covers the hardware of your device for a set period of time, usually one year in the United States and Canada, and two years in most of Europe. The warranty covers any Defects in Materials and Workmanship, including but not limited to the accessories and battery that came in the box with your MacBook.

In the event of a failure due to a covered defect in materials or workmanship, Apple will either repair or replace the defective part or product, depending on the issue.

In some cases, Apple may repair or replace only the affected part or product rather than the whole unit. Depending on the part or product being repaired or replaced, Apple may not be able to retain the original content, including your data, installed software, and settings.

Apple is not responsible for any damage to or loss of any programs, data, or other information stored on the replaced part or product.

If you purchase AppleCare for your MacBook, you can extend your coverage up to three years from the original purchase date. AppleCare includes repair or replacement coverage for hardware defects, post-warranty accidental damage, and assistance from Apple technical support experts.

Does dropping phone void warranty?

In most cases, dropping your phone does not void your warranty, unless it was in some way related to the defect. For example, if you dropped your phone and cracked the screen, the manufacturer may not cover the cost of replacing the screen, as that damage would not be covered by the warranty.

However, if the phone was working perfectly fine prior to being dropped and then experienced a defect, like component failure or battery failure, that would be covered under warranty and the fact that you dropped the phone would not void the warranty.

It’s important to keep in mind that warranties typically don’t cover normal wear and tear of the phone, so a phone that has been heavily used and dropped multiple times may be considered normal wear and tear, and not be eligible for warranty coverage.

In addition, each manufacturer has its own set of warranty terms and conditions, so you will need to read them carefully to determine whether or not dropping the phone would void your warranty.

Is my iPhone covered under warranty if I drop it?

It depends on a couple of factors. Every iPhone has a standard one-year limited warranty which covers defects in workmanship and materials but does not cover accidental damage, such as from a drop. However, if you have AppleCare+, then it does cover two incidents of accidental damage, such as a drop.

It’s important to note that some carriers, such as Verizon and AT&T, may offer their own warranty services for iPhones, which may cover certain types of damage such as drops. If you purchased your iPhone directly from Apple, you may be covered under AppleCare+ (with coverage options varying by model).

You should check with your carrier and with Apple to determine what warranty coverage may be available to you.

Will Apple replace my phone if I dropped it?

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Apple will replace your phone if you dropped it. Apple typically does not replace phones that have been damaged by drops or other external factors. While Apple does offer a repair service for damaged phones, it usually requires that you pay for the repair or replacement costs, as Apple does not provide free replacements for damaged phones.

Additionally, Apple might choose to not provide a repair or replacement if your phone has been subjected to liquid damage or physical abuse beyond reasonable wear and tear.
