When you delete an iMessage does it delete for the other person?

It depends on a few factors. If the other person has the conversation up and running on their device, then deleting the iMessage from your device will not delete it from theirs. Meanwhile, if your message has already been delivered to the other person and you delete it from your device, it will still appear on their device, but the recipient will be able to see that the message was deleted.

However, if the other person has not downloaded the message yet, deleting it from your device should mean that it will never be delivered to theirs.

Can you delete or Unsend an iMessage?

Unfortunately, the answer is no – you cannot delete or ‘unsend’ an iMessage once it has been sent. Unlike emails or text messages, once you hit the ‘Send’ button on an iMessage, it goes out as soon as possible and is then stored in the recipient’s device.

So it’s always best to double-check your message before sending it to make sure there are no mistakes or typos that you can’t fix later. You can delete the message from your own device, but it will still show up in the other person’s message history.

What happens if I delete a message on iMessage?

When you delete a message in iMessage, the message is immediately removed from your conversation. Depending on how you delete the message, it may still be visible to the other person in the conversation.

If you have enabled “read receipts” in your iMessage settings, then when you delete a message, it will still appear in the conversation and will be marked as “read” for the other person.

If the message was deleted before either user has seen it, the message will disappear from the text conversation for both of you. However, if the message has already been seen, the other person will still be able to see it, although it will be marked as “delivered” instead of “read”.

You can also delete a message for all participants in iMessage. This is done by holding down on the message and selecting “Delete for Everyone”. When you delete a message for everyone, it will be permanently removed from the conversation and will not be seen by anyone.

How to unsend messages on iPhone from both sides?

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to unsend messages on iPhone from both sides, and there is no built-in feature in iOS to do this. However, there are third-party applications that allow users to unsend messages on iPhone if both users have the same app installed.

For example, the “Rocketrip” messaging app designed for corporate teams with iOS devices has a “Takeback” feature that allows you to send/unsend messages to anyone within the same team. There is also an AngryBytes Messenger app which has a “delete for everyone” feature.

Both apps require you to have the same app for both parties in order for the unsend feature to work. It should be noted that both of these apps will not work for standard text messages, but only for messages sent through the app.

How do you delete text messages on both sides?

To delete text messages on both sides, you need to open the conversation thread and select the messages you want to delete. Once you have selected the messages, press and hold the delete button on your keyboard or the “Trash Can” icon at the top of the screen.

You will be prompted for confirmation to delete the selected messages. After clicking “ok,” the messages will be deleted from both sides of the conversation. If you are using a messaging service such as WhatsApp, you will need to ensure that your settings are set to delete messages from both sides.

In the case of a traditional SMS service, the messages will be deleted from both sides when the delete button is pressed.

Does deleting iPhone messages delete them for both people?

Generally, when you delete an iPhone message, it is deleted from both people’s devices. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, if the other person is not using iMessage (Apple’s messaging system) and they are using a third-party messaging app, then deleting a message from your device will not delete it from theirs.

Additionally, if you delete a message before the other person has read it, they can still read the message. Once they have read the message and it has been delivered to their device, then deleting the message from your device will delete it from theirs as well.

Can you delete iMessages before they are read?

Yes, you can delete iMessages before they are read. When you delete an iMessage, it is removed from your device immediately, so the other person will not be able to read it. However, if it has already been delivered, the other person may still be able to read it, depending on how quickly they open it.

It is best to delete an iMessage as soon as you realise you sent it to the wrong person, or if you have sent something that you now regret. Furthermore, you can also disable the ‘Send Read Receipts’ option in the Messages settings, which will prevent other people from seeing when you have read their messages.

What happens when you delete a text conversation?

When you delete a text conversation, the content of the conversation is removed from your device and the data is no longer present in the text messaging app. If you are using a service such as SMS (Short Message Service), the message may still be retrieved on another device if you have sent an SMS message to someone else.

On some services, messages may remain stored separately on another server, if you have an online messaging service such as iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook. In this case, the deleted messages may be available and visible to people with access to those systems and are often difficult to permanently delete from those services.

Additionally, if you only delete the conversation from your device, the other devices or accounts involved in the conversation may still possess the conversation. Therefore, completely deleting the conversation from all devices is the best way to ensure that the conversation is completely removed from any and all devices.
