Did the bard love Geralt?

The relationship between the bard in the Witcher series, Dandelion, and Geralt is complex. While they both share an immense amount of respect for each other, there’s no clear answer as to whether or not the bard loves Geralt in a romantic way.

On the one hand, Dandelion’s bardic laments often focus on Geralt and are full of admiration, while there are also many references to his intense feelings of friendship and loyalty to the witcher. It could be argued that the bard’s affections run deeper than mere friendship and that he loves him in some capacity.

That said, Dandelion’s interactions with Geralt are platonic and largely take the form of jests and playful banter. Dandelion has been known to tease Geralt about some of his friends, for example, and the whole room erupts in laughter when Geralt takes Dandelion’s jokes in stride.

Furthermore, when Geralt is declared the winner of a fistfight with an enemy of Dandelion, the bard jumps in joy and is even seen clapping. All these moments seem to reflect a strong bond of friendship between them, while not necessarily indicating a romantic connection.

The true nature of the bard’s feelings towards Geralt will likely remain a mystery, as the series never explicitly reveals them.

Why Jaskier is mad at Geralt?

Jaskier is mad at Geralt because the witcher is often frustratingly unappreciative of the bard’s music and loyalty. Jaskier has always been there to lift Geralt’s spirits and is often the one providing light and sometimes comedic relief during the duo’s travels.

Despite this, Geralt is often cold, indifferent or ignores him altogether, causing Jaskier to feel unvalued and frustrated. Jaskier does not understand why Geralt does not understand or accept his friendship and is often left feeling hurt and angry.

It can conflict with even his bardic ambitions, as at times his loyalty to Geralt could mean going against what could be best for Jaskier himself. Despite the frustration of their relationship, Jaskier never stops offering his friendship no matter what, leading to a unique bond between the two.

When Geralt eventually shows Jaskier the appreciation he deserves, it is a reward that Jaskier cherishes deeply and strengthens the bond between them.

Why did Geralt and Jaskier break up?

Geralt and Jaskier’s relationship seemed strong and meaningful at first, but it eventually broke down and ended in a very messy way. There were a few factors that played into this, ranging from Geralt’s mistrust of humans and their tendency to lie, to Jaskier’s inability to understand Geralt’s work as a Witcher and the dangerous situations he often encountered.

Ultimately, the two clashed in a way that resulted in them going their separate ways, much to their dismay.

The biggest issue between them was the fact that Geralt really just wasn’t ready for a committed romantic relationship and had difficulty adjusting to the changes Jaskier wanted to make. Geralt’s stoic personality and his experience with humans often made him mistrustful and suspicious of anyone new.

He was not used to relying on someone else for emotional support, and as such, it was difficult for him to open up, which caused huge problems within their relationship.

On the other hand, Jaskier was absolutely enamored with Geralt and believed that he could change him and make him a better person. This caused a lot of friction between them, as Geralt was not interested in changing himself, nor did he want Jaskier to try and do it for him.

Jaskier’s enthusiasm to enrol Geralt in his human world even without his consent, was a cause for contention, with Geralt holding firm on his dislike for humans.

Ultimately the two chose to go their separate ways, without having any truly definitive answer as to why their relationship ended. Jaskier’s desire for more out of their relationship and Geralt’s distrust of humans was just too much for either of them to overcome.

While it was sad not to see them together, it was ultimately for the best and served as a reminder to both of them that relationships, while beautiful, require effort and understanding to make them last.
