Why did Minato seal the Nine-Tails?
Minato sealed the Nine-Tails for two reasons. The first was to stop the rampaging Nine-Tails from continuing to wreak havoc in Konoha and causing further destruction. Despite the village’s efforts to contain the beast, the Nine-Tails continued to cause destruction and Minato feared it was only a matter of time before the beast would escape and come after the Hidden Leaf Village again.
The second reason was to save Naruto. Minato knew that the Nine-Tails would eventually be extracted and experimented on, so he decided to seal it in Naruto so that it would remain safe and under his protection.
By doing so, Minato also invested Naruto with significant chakra and transformed the young boy into one of the most powerful ninja in the world.
