Why has my Apple Pencil stopped working?

It is possible that your Apple Pencil has run out of power. Apple Pencils have a rechargeable battery that needs to be periodically recharged. To charge your Apple Pencil, you can plug it into the lightning connector on your iPad Pro.

Alternately, you can use the Apple Pencil Charging Adapter that came with the Pencil and plug it into a USB port on an Apple charger or a computer. Additionally, it is possible that your Apple Pencil has been affected by a software update or malfunction, or that the system is not recognizing it.

If your Apple Pencil is still not working, take it to your nearest Apple store or contact Apple Support online to review the issue and determine how to get your Pencil up and running again.

How do I reset my Apple Pencil on my iPad?

To reset your Apple Pencil on your iPad, there are two methods you can follow. The first method is to simply remove the Apple Pencil from your iPad, then re-connect it back to your iPad. This will essentially reset the Apple Pencil and it should be good to go.

The second method is to go into the Accessibility Settings on your iPad and find the Apple Pencil settings. Once you have accessed the settings, you will see an option to Reset Apple Pencil. This will essentially reset all of your settings related to the Apple Pencil on your iPad.

Once the reset is complete, you should then be able to pair and use your Apple Pencil again with your iPad.

How long should an Apple Pencil last?

An Apple Pencil should last years depending on usage, but many Apple Pencils have been known to last much longer than that. The internal battery is rechargeable and should last around 12 hours of use on a single charge.

However, it is possible to use the Apple Pencil for longer if you connect it to a power source and charge it up often. Additionally, if the pencil has only been used occasionally it will usually last even longer.

Depending on how it is used and charged, it should last many years before needing to be replaced.

How do you charge a dead Apple Pencil?

Charging a dead Apple Pencil is a simple process. First, you will need the Apple Pencil Charger that came with the pencil. Then, connect one end of the charger to the lightning connector port that is located on the side of the pencil.

The other end of the charger should be connected to a USB wall adapter or a USB port on your Mac. Once the charger is securely connected, the Apple Pencil will begin charging. Depending on the amount of charge in the Pencil, it may take up to 15 minutes for the pencil to completely charge.

When the charging is complete, you will see the LED on the end of the pencil turn from flashing orange to a solid white light.

Can battery in Apple Pencil be replaced?

Yes, the battery inside the Apple Pencil can be replaced. Depending on your model of the Apple Pencil, you can either replace the battery yourself with a special tool and a replacement battery from authorized Apple parts sources, or you can take it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider so that they can replace it for you.

When replacing the battery yourself, make sure to turn off your device and disconnect it from your iPad before beginning the repair, and make sure to use the appropriate tools and batteries for the specific model you have.

If you are in doubt, contact Apple support or an Apple Authorized Service Provider so they can advise you.

What do you do if your Apple Pencil isn’t pairing?

If you’re having issues pairing your Apple Pencil, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue.

First, make sure your Apple Pencil is charged. The LED light will be white when it is fully charged. A quick 30-second charge should do the trick.

Next, make sure the pencil is turned on. To turn it on, remove the cap, then press and hold the larger end of the pencil for a few seconds. The LED light at the end of the pencil should be visible.

If the pencil is still not connecting, try moving the tip of the pencil around the screen of your iPad. When the pencil is detected, an image of the tip should appear. If that doesn’t work, make sure the software on both your iPad and the Apple Pencil are up to date.

Contact Apple Support if the issue continues.

Finally, make sure the magnetic connector on the side of the iPad is clean. If not, you can use a dry cloth to wipe off the connector. You can also try a different Apple Pencil or iPad, just to make sure the issue isn’t the hardware.

Where is the pair button for Apple Pencil?

The pair button for an Apple Pencil is located on the back of the device near the charging port. To pair an Apple Pencil with an iPad, make sure the iPad is powered on and unlocked. Then, make sure the Apple Pencil is turned on by pushing and holding the pair button located at the back of the device until the white light blinks.

After the light flashes, open the Settings app on the iPad and navigate to the Bluetooth tab. Select your Apple Pencil from the list and it will be marked as paired.

Why is my Apple Pencil not charging or connecting?

If your Apple Pencil is not charging or connecting, it could be due to a few different factors. First, you may need to check the hardware itself to ensure it is in proper working condition. Make sure that the charging tip is free from any dirt or debris, and that the Lightning connector is free from any contaminants as well.

Also ensure that nothing is blocking the connectors on the Apple Pencil and iPad. If there is, try moving anything that may be blocking it.

If the hardware appears to be in good working order, it is possible that the software on your iPad may need to be updated. You can check for updates by going to the Settings app and selecting General > Software Update.

Additionally, ensuring that Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad may be necessary in order for your Apple Pencil to connect. You can do this by going to Settings > Bluetooth and making sure that the switch is set to the ‘on’ position.

If none of the steps above have worked, and your Apple Pencil still isn’t connecting or responding, then you may need to have the device serviced or replaced. You can contact Apple support at 1-800-MY-APPLE for more information on service and repair options.
