How do I fix the Bluetooth pairing problem?

Firstly, ensure that the Bluetooth connection on both devices is enabled. The steps will vary depending on the type of device, but you should look for a Bluetooth toggle switch in the device’s network settings.

Note, if your device has been previously paired with a different device, you may need to unpair it before continuing. Then, on the device with which you’re attempting to pair, go to the Bluetooth settings menu.

Select the ‘pair new device’ option, then search for the other device. Once it’s been detected, it should give the option to connect and pair the devices. You may have to enter a PIN or passkey, depending on the Bluetooth device.

If you enter the wrong PIN or passkey, the pairing should fail. Therefore, it’s important you’re entering the correct code. If nothing happens when you attempt to pair the devices, you may need to turn the Bluetooth device off and back on again, then repeat the pairing process again.

If this still doesn’t work, you may need to install the latest software updates, as this can often fix Bluetooth connectivity issues. Additionally, if you’re trying to pair a Bluetooth device to your phone, or vice-versa, you may need to enable ‘trust this device’, or ‘use for phone calls’, depending on your device.

Finally, some devices are incompatible, so if none of the previous steps work you may need to find an alternative device.
