Why is my Owlet not connecting to base?

There could be a few different reasons why your Owlet is not connecting to the base. First, ensure that your wifi is on and working correctly. If it is, try unplugging the base station, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging it back in.

You should also make sure the wifi range is not too far away from the base station, as it could be losing the connection due to increasing distance. If these steps do not help, please connect your device to the Owlet app and check if there is a firmware update available.

Additionally, if the device is still not connecting, please contact Owlet support for further assistance.

How do I reconnect my Owlet sock to base?

To reconnect your Owlet sock to base, you will first need to power off your base station. To do this, press and hold the power button on the back of the base station for at least five seconds. Once it has powered off, press and hold the button for two seconds to turn it back on.

You may need to repeat this process a few times to completely power cycle the base station. Once the base station is powered up, the Owlet App will guide you through connecting the Owlet sock. You will need to press the two buttons located on the back of the base station to begin the connection process.

The app will take you through each step of the connection procedure until it is successfully reconnected. If you encounter any errors during the process, please refer to the Owlet support page for further instructions.

Why does my Owlet app keep saying App searching for Base Station?

The Owlet App keeps saying “App searching for Base Station” because it is trying to connect to the Base Station or monitor. The Base Station is a device that connects to the Smart Sock or Cam and sends information to the app.

The Base Station is required in order for you to be able to monitor your baby on the app.

If the Base Station is too far away, out of range, or the Bluetooth is not properly connected when the app is open, your app may say “App Searching for Base Station. ” To resolve this, try the following:

• Make sure the Base Station is plugged into a working outlet.

• Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.

• Make sure the Base Station is no more than 50 feet away from your mobile device.

• If you are using your phone in Airplane Mode, make sure you have enabled Bluetooth.

• Unplug and replug your Base Station.

• Force quit and restart your app.

If none of these solutions work, please contact Owlet support.

What happens when Owlet battery dies?

When the Owlet Smart Sock battery dies, the sock will no longer monitor your baby’s sleep. The sock will even flash an orange light indicating that the battery is dead. To replace the battery, you need to unscrew the back panel of the sock with a screwdriver, remove the old battery, and replace it with a new one.

Make sure you use an approved CR2450N lithium battery. After replacing it with a new one, you will have to re-pair the sock with the Base Station to start tracking your baby’s sleep again. It’s important to keep a fully charged battery in the sock at all times so you don’t miss any important updates on your baby’s day-to-day sleep activity.

Where should Owlet socks be placed?

Owlet Smart Socks should be placed on the baby’s foot before placing the baby in the crib. Make sure the heel of the sock is in the snug position and the Owl logo is facing outward. Place the baby in their sleep environment with the sock in place and the base station located near their crib.

Because the sock is designed to detect heart rate and oxygen levels, placement is extremely important. Make sure the sock is not constricting the baby in any way, and not too tight or too loose. This should be checked periodically throughout the night.

Additionally, be sure the sensor pad is securely against the top of the foot and make sure no fabric or other material is obstructing the sensor pad.

Does Owlet Base Station have to be in same room?

No, the Owlet Base Station does not have to be in the same room as your baby. The Owlet Base Station has a range of about 900 feet, so you can feel comfortable leaving it in another room or even in another part of the house.

The Owlet Base Station connects wirelessly to the Owlet Baby Monitor’s sensor sock, meaning that you can move the base station to another room without interrupting the connection. However, for best performance, and to ensure that the connection isn’t disrupted, it’s important to make sure there aren’t any walls, furniture, or any other obstacles between the base station and the sensor sock that could interfere with the connection.

The Owlet App will alert you if the connection is interrupted.

Does Owlet work if Base Station is off?

No, Owlet does not work if the Base Station is turned off. Owlet is an innovative baby care system that uses advanced heartbeat and oxygen monitor to provide health information about your baby right to your smartphone.

It monitors your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels while they sleep. The Base Station is the hub of the entire system and must be turned on and connected to your home’s wifi network in order for the monitor to work.

Without the Base Station, your device would not be able to collect data from the foot pod and would not be able to alert you if there were any changes in your baby’s health.

Does the Owlet have to be on bare feet?

No, the Owlet does not have to be worn on bare feet. However, it is highly recommended that the Owlet is worn on bare feet for best accuracy. There are single-use adhesive sock liners included with the Owlet Monitor, which will help keep the sock secure.

The Owlet can also be worn with thin socks, which are sold separately. Thin non-binding organic cotton and wool socks are the best to use so that the Owlet stays in contact with the baby’s foot as much as possible.

It is recommended that the sock is also tested with the Owlet before first use, to ensure the best accuracy.

When should you stop wearing Owlet?

The Owlet Smart Sock should be used until your child reaches age 1 and is safely transitioned to a standard crib/bed with adult supervision. The Owlet Smart Sock 2 is designed to be worn on an infant’s foot during naps and nighttime sleeps and only during that time.

When removed and placed on the charging dock, it stops monitoring and alerts.

You should not use the Owlet Smart Sock if your infant is not placed on their back to sleep, is rolling over, or has started crawling or pulling themselves up on furniture. The Owlet Smart Sock 2 is not intended for infants who weigh less than 10 lbs or more than 30 lbs and should only be used with infants whose feet are small enough for the two toe inserts to fit comfortably.

If your baby entered into a larger shoe size, no longer fits in the inserts, or is generally active, then you will need to transition them off the Smart Sock. Additionally, the Owlet Smart Sock should not be used in the crib after age 1, as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends transitioning a child to a standard crib/bed with adult supervision at that age.

It is important to remember that the Owlet Smart Sock is not a substitute for adult supervision and is not intended to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) nor should it replace following AAP safe sleep guidelines.

You should always consult with your pediatrician if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s safety.

Can you leave the owlet sock on all day?

Yes, you can leave the Owlet sock on all day as it is designed to be worn all day and night. The sock uses pulse oximetry – a non-invasive, FDA-approved way to measure a baby’s oxygen levels and heart rate – to monitor your baby’s health.

The sock will alert you if the baby’s oxygen levels or heart rate falls outside of a predetermined range. To ensure accurate readings, the sock should be placed mid-calf, away from any blankets or loose clothing.

It can also be wrapped around your baby’s foot instead of their ankle, if that proves to be more comfortable. As long as it is properly placed and maintained, you can feel free to leave the Owlet sock on all day.

How do I know if Owlet is working?

You can know if your Owlet is working properly by checking the sensor pairing and Connection Status on the app. The app will indicate a green checkmark once the device has successfully connected to your home’s Wi-Fi network and the boot-up sync with the base station is complete.

Additionally, the app will show the child’s current heart rate and oxygen levels, as well as alert you if any changes exceed preset thresholds. Additionally, if the device is not properly synced up, it will display an alert that indicates that the device needs to be re-booted or you may need to reset the base station.

If you experience any difficulties, Owlet’s Customer Care team is available to troubleshoot any issues and help you get your Owlet device working properly.

Does the Owlet base have to be plugged in to work?

Yes, the Owlet base must be plugged in to work. The Owlet base is powered by a wall outlet, and although it comes with a battery pack, it must be plugged in to remain stable and send updates to your smartphone.

The Owlet base has three components: a Bluetooth transmitter, cellular modem, and power cord. The Bluetooth transmitter communicates to the Owlet Smart Sock to monitor your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels, while the cellular modem transmits information to your phone.

The power cord keeps the Owlet base connected to a power source. Without it, the base loses power and becomes unable to perform its functions.

Does Owlet make noise when battery dies?

Yes, Owlet does make noise when its battery dies. This noise is an audible alert to let you know that the battery needs to be changed. The sound made is a high-pitched beep, which will occur every 10 seconds.

It is important to be aware of this noise as it could alert you to a potentially serious situation where the battery has run down and no longer provides adequate levels of power to the device. It is advised to keep a replacement battery charged and on hand to replace the drained one as soon as possible.

Additionally, if the battery isn’t replaced within 30 minutes of being alerted to the low-battery notification, the sock will shut down automatically.

Will Owlet still work without Wi-Fi?

No, the Owlet Smart Sock will not work without a Wi-Fi connection. The Owlet Smart Sock is a smart monitoring system designed to track your baby’s vital signs while they sleep. The Smart Sock connects to an app that you can download on your smartphone, which must be connected to the Wi-Fi in order for the Smart Sock to work.

Without Wi-Fi, the Smart Sock is unable to connect to the app and therefore cannot track baby’s vital signs. In addition to this, without a Wi-Fi connection, you will not be able to access data history, receive updates, or receive real-time alerts from your Smart Sock.

How far can the Owlet sock be from the Base Station?

The Owlet Smart Sock, can be up to 100 feet away from the Base Station, depending on your home’s construction and WiFi strength. It is designed to have an indoor-only range, meaning that it shouldn’t be used outside of the home.

To ensure that you and your baby are connected to the Base Station, it’s important to keep the Smart Sock within close proximity. The Base Station must be within range of the Smart Sock to detect any changes in your baby’s oxygen and heart-rate levels.

If the Smart Sock is not receiving an appropriate signal from the Base Station, it may give you a low battery warning, even if the battery is still full. If the Smart Sock and the Base Station become disconnected, an alert will sound to let you know that they are not connected.
